Will I earn university credit for completing the Specialisation?

No, these MOOCs are not credit bearing. However, gaining a certificate for the Specialisation may help you meet the entry requirements for the University of London Global MBA.

I don’t have a degree, but I have more than three years’ worth of work experience. Do I have to complete the Professional Skills and Management Skills MOOCs to apply for the Global MBA?

It is not a requirement but you are strongly advised to complete the specialization.

I’m not interested in taking the Global MBA. Can I still do the course?

Yes! The course is open to everyone, and will be useful for those starting out in the workplace, or considering further study in any of the areas covered by these MOOCs

How regularly do the courses start?

With the exception of the Capstone, each course in the Specialisation will begin once every two weeks. The Capstone will begin once every six weeks.

Is this course really 100% online? Do I need to attend any classes in person?

This course is completely online, so there’s no need to show up to a classroom in person. You can access your lectures, readings and assignments anytime and anywhere via the web or your mobile device.

Can I just enroll in a single course?

Yes! To get started, click the course card that interests you and enroll. You can enroll and complete the course to earn a shareable certificate. When you subscribe to a course that is part of a Specialization, you’re automatically subscribed to the full Specialization. Visit your learner dashboard to track your progress.

Is financial aid available?

Yes. In select learning programs, you can apply for financial aid or a scholarship if you can’t afford the enrollment fee. If fin aid or scholarship is available for your learning program selection, you’ll find a link to apply on the description page.

Can I take the course for free?

No, you cannot take this course for free. When you enroll in the course, you get access to all of the courses in the Specialization, and you earn a certificate when you complete the work. If you cannot afford the fee, you can apply for financial aid.

Will I earn university credit for completing the Specialization?

This Specialization doesn't carry university credit, but some universities may choose to accept Specialization Certificates for credit. Check with your institution to learn more.

Frequently asked questions

The Specialisation contains five courses and the Capstone. The five MOOCs each have four modules of content, and the Capstone has five modules. You should be able to complete each module in approximately five hours of work, meaning that the Specialisation as a whole should take you 125 hours to complete. Each course has an indicative four week structure (five in the case of the Capstone) but you are welcome to complete each course at your own pace.

No specific background knowledge is necessary. However, if you are planning to take this Specialisation as an entry route to the University of London Global MBA, you will still need to have at least one of the core requirements for entry to be eligible after completing the Specialisation.

With the exception of the Capstone, no, you do not need to take the courses in a specific order. As the Capstone will draw on aspects of all of the other courses in the Specialisation, we strongly advise completing these before embarking on this part of the Specialisation.

The Specialisation is designed to help you develop and build the essential business, academic, and cultural skills necessary to succeed in international business or in MBA study. You will be introduced to key concepts which will come up on the University of London Global MBA, as well as being given an overview of current themes in international business. If you have been out of education for more than ten years, you may also find this Specialisation helps you get back into the mind-set of university learning.

The Specialisation is priced under the Subscription Model at $49 per month.

When you subscribe to a course that is part of a Specialisation, you will be automatically subscribed to the entire Specialisation. If you are just interested in a single course in the Specialisation, you will need to cancel your subscription after completing this course in order to stop the recurring monthly charge.
